Unrestricted free agent wide receiver Terrell Owens has not found a satisfying job to work as an NFL player. After criticizing the ESPN for destroying his reputation and causing teams to shy away from signing him, Owens now began to tell about what teams he would like to play with. Well, on top of his choices, it’s the New England Patriots.
“People think that they have that perception about me," Owens said. "Of course. What receiver that’s out there that’s had great stats, great careers that didn’t want the ball? I’m no different. But of course, I mean, you’ve got Brady there. You’ve got the great mind, coach Belichick. I’m like LeBron. I can go there and take less of a role, take less money and put everything aside and make it work.”
Owens also said that he would love to put on Vikings jersey if Brett Favre returns to Minnesota for 2010 season. He likes catch ball from a quarterback who is even more dramatic than himself, so he likes the idea of playing with Brett Favre. However, currently Owens’ main problem is not with which team he likes to play with but which team would like to bring him into system.

Favre fan won weight-losing competition
If you are at 526-pound fan for Brett Favre, I guess it would be very difficult for you to find a good Brett Favre jersey to fit your body. Actually, the problem is bothering quite a lot of over-weight sports fans, and the story of Michael Vent could teach them something about body building.
Vent has been a fan for Favre since he was pupil and always dreamed of being a star football player like Favre. However, with an inappropriate eating habit, he grew up into a 526-pound fat man, who surely had no chance to become an athlete in any kind of sports. What caused him to determine lose the extra weight was Favre’s performance in 2009. Just as many other people previously believed, Vent did not think Favre could play as excellent as before at age 40. To his surprise, Favre made it and led the Minnesota Vikings to the NFC championship game. Then Vent wondered, if a 40-year-old man could have that kind of success, why could not he himself, at age 25, do a much easier thing like losing weight?
In order to get strong enough motivation, Vent entered for a national weight-losing competition and had the audience supervise his own plan. By the end of the three-month competition, Vent successfully lost more than a half o his body weight to be a 264-pound handsome young man and won the championship of the competition. You can imagine how excited he was for that achievement. Now Vent is planning to buy a favorite Favre jersey and Vikings’ season-ticket with the prize he earned to watch the all the games played by Favre.

Archie Manning said Favre’s return was expectable
While many people are discussion with excitement about Brett Favre’s ankle surgery and his possible return, former New Orleans Saints quarterback Archie Manning said it was nothing new to him as he always believed that Favre would return to the Vikings for 2010 season and the surgery was just expectable.
Watching 40-year-old Favre lead the Minnesota Vikings to the NFC championship game against his former team New Orleans Saints, Archie Manning saw Favre’s potential to continue with his brilliant performance even if he is older than most of his teammates and some coaches. Although the Vikings finally lost the NFC title to the Saints after the overtime loss, Archie Manning still believed that Favre could lead his team to win if the two teams rematch when the quarterback is 100 percent healthy.
The rematch is really going to happen in early September for the 2010 NFL season opener. Since knowing the schedule, Archie Manning has had the belief that Favre would return to make the revenge on Saints. He will prove that he is still able to win a Super Bowl ring at an NFL retirement age. As a former star quarterback himself, Archie Manning knows well what Favre is able to do with a strong sense of honor. Vikings QB Jackson had contacts with Favre
While the playing status of starting quarterback Brett Favre is still pending, the Minnesota Vikings backup quarterback Tarvaris Jackson has been frequently mentioned whenever people had a new speculation on Favre’s decision. If Favre returns, Jackson will remain the backup, and if Favre retires, Jackson is believed to be the top choice of new starter.
On that point, Jackson should wish Favre not to return so that he could finally have his starting job back. However, Jackson seems quite satisfied with his current backup role and has a good personal relation with Favre, who made a sudden mind change last offseason to put on Minnesota Vikings jersey and took the starting job away from Jackson. Jackson earned that job hard after offseason competition with Sage Rosenfels and he was so disappointed with change that he had asked for a trade. Vikings rookie Joe Webb may return to QB position
When the Minnesota Vikings picked former UAB quarterback Joe Webb from the sixth round of the 2010 NFL draft, their original plan was to use him at wide receiver. However, some time after the rookie minicamp, the coaching staff of the team changed their mind and would like to have a look at the rookie’s ability to passing balls.
Webb had a brilliant college football career as quarterback and showed great skills in running the ball before entering the draft. He also played sometimes at wide receiver and proved himself to be a versatile player capable of playing well at both spots. So it’s understandable for the Vikings coaches to use him as both passer and catcher.
“The coaches liked me (at receiver), liked what I did out there and the athleticism I showed,” Webb said. “They also put me at quarterback and had me throw the ball. They liked the way I threw the ball and now they want me to play quarterback. Right now, it looks like when I go back, I’ll get a shot at quarterback.”
According to reports, Webb will play mostly as a quarterback during the team’s OTAs. Perhaps the team is just preparing for a possible retirement of Brett Favre, who remains undecided on whether to have a knee surgery, let alone to wear back his Vikings jersey.

Vikings still want more wide receivers?
Have a count on the Minnesota Vikings roster, we can find as many as nine names with the title of wide receiver, and quite a few of them are proven talents. Any team with these receivers would be satisfied but they are not the Vikings, who are still planning to add more receives to roster.
According to latest reports, when veteran receiver Marko Mitchell was released by the Washington Redskins on Tuesday, Vikings were among several teams in pursuit of him. However, it turned out to be the Detroit Lions claiming Mitchell off the waiver. Actually both teams made claims, but the Lions happened to have the privilege of making claims because they ranked lower in last season.
What made Mitchell attractive to the Vikings was that he had a solid preseason after being drafted by the Redskins as a seventh-round pick from 2009 NFL draft. The point is the Vikings already have receivers like Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin, who had solider regular-season last year while Mitchell only caught four passes for 32 yards in the 10 regular-season he played. The Vikings seem to be build up a large group of wide receivers, but keep the quarterback mix the almost the same with last season. What is the plan for? Perhaps it’s just one more for to quarterback Brett Favre to wear back his Vikings jersey. The team is like saying: Hey, Favre, choose your favorite pass catchers here, we will offer as many choices as possible.

Favre has not been ready for 2010 season
It’s been over mother since Brett Favre played the last game for the Minnesota Vikings, and yet he has not decided whether to wear back any team’s NFL jerseys for 2010 season, and does not expect to make any decision soon.
Appearing on NBC’s “The Tonight Show” on Thursday night, Favre made his first public comments since Minnesota’s bitter overtime loss in the NFC championship at New Orleans on Jan. 24, saying that he would like to enjoy the offseason and would not say anything anytime soon.
The former Green Bay Packer’s decision to play for his former bitter rival in Minnesota was unfathomable: it was unacceptable to Packers fans and he was not welcomed by Vikings fans, who had hated him for many years. However, Favre managed to have one of his best seasons ever and won over the majority of the Vikings fans. Remaining the NFL’s career leader in nearly every major passing category, the three-time league MVP quarterback brought 33 touchdowns and the lowest interception rate of his career to the Vikings. No wonder the Vikings have so much patience to wait for him to make decision although that could muddy their plans for the quarterback position.

Favre turns to 40 Saturday and arm still feels great
Brett Favre will be 40 this Saturday. A good age to retire but the star quarterback feels that his new life in purple vikings jersey just begins. While playing his last game of his 30s Monday night against the Green Bay Packers, he threw for 271 yards and three TDs to beat his old team, showing everyone that his surgically repaired right arm was in perfect condition.
After his first four games in purple, Favre has completed 68 percent of his passes for 837 yards, eight touchdowns and just one interception to lead the Vikings to a 4-0 start. Comparing to his only season in the New York Jets, Favre’s performance for this season is much better. While playing for the Jets, a partially torn biceps in his throwing arm limited him to nine interceptions and only two touchdowns as the Jets lost four of five down the stretch and missed the playoffs.
Favre underwent a surgery on his biceps in May and had the partially torn tendon cut to alleviate the pain that caused the quarterback to retire for a second consecutive season last spring. The surgery, which has been growing in popularity, was the main reason for Favre to extend his career.

Favre will not play in Vikings preseason finale against Cowboys
As most NFL teams rest their starters in the final preseason game, the Minnesota Vikings took the same action on their starting quarterback Brett Favre, who arrived in Minnesota just 16 days ago.
It was in purpose of avoiding the risk of injury with the regular season a week away, especially necessary for the 39-year-old quarterback. Three days after his arrival, Favre put on the No. 4 vikings jersey and played his first game for the Vikings, looking every bit as rusty as could be expected with 1 for 4 for 4 yards in two series against the Kansas City Chiefs. But his performance became better and better afterwards, completing 13 of 18 passes for 142 yards and a touchdown while playing into the third quarter of a 17-10 win at Houston.
“I thought he made a nice jump from Week 1 to Week 2 and showed he’s got a good understanding of what we’re doing,” Vikings coach Brad Childress said.
Before the Vikings open the regular season on Sept. 13 at Cleveland, Favre and the rest of his offensive starters spend the entire week on practicing to fine-tune things.

Favre gave no impressive performance in debut for Vikings
On Friday night’s preseason game the Minnesota Vikings playing against the Kansas City Chiefs, predictably, a lot of fans and reporters were there mainly watching Brett Favre’s debut for the Vikings. However, what they saw was just only one completed pass in Favre’s eight plays.
The same fans who used to hate Favre when he was playing for Vikings’ rival the Green Bay Packers, welcomed Favre heartily with loud cheer. However, he did not play the important role in leading the Vikings to the 17-13 victory over the Chiefs. Favre played two series and went 1 for 4 for a whopping 4 yards. Then he ended the night with a jarring hit by Chiefs linebacker Corey Mays. The No. 4 brett favre jersey was pulled down and exposing his left shoulder pad.

Vikings coach Childress is patient with Favre
After Brett Favre told The Associated Press on Wednesday that he planned to set July 30 as a deadline to tell the Vikings whether or not he’ll play for them this coming season, the Vikings coach Brad Childress said that he is willing to wait for Favre to make his last decision.
“He is pushing to see if he feels like he can make it back. He is not going to play this game unless he can play the way that everybody is used to seeing him play, and it is a work in progress,” Childress told the Minneapolis Star Tribune. “I know everyone gets concerned about, is it the fourth of July, is it the week of the 13th, is it the week of the 20th now, when is it going to be?"
Childress also felt that it is ok for Favre to make decision by training camp start since he has been doing workouts during rehabilitation. At least he doesnot to worry that Favre may wear detroit lions jersey.

Favre will be on HBO's show
For a few weeks, a lot of people—analysts, coaches, players, agents—have been talking about Brett Favre, about his retiring and coming out of retirement, about the team who will likely sign him, among them the hottest topics are about the Minnesota Vikings.
These lots of people did not include Favre himself. He kept silent until this Monday. What happened on Monday is Favre's debut of HBO's "Joe Buck Live". And after the show, a spokesman told reporters, there was a plan for Favre to be interviewed live on stage or through satellite by Buck if a live interview is not possible.
If you are interested in anything about Favre, you can just lock on the show at HBO, 9 p.m. ET, Monday.
