Falcons QB Ryan realize dream of 16-year-old boy

The Atlanta Falcons impressed a 16-year-old boy with their humble nature and “down-to-earth” personalities. Thanks to the effort of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Alex Van Etten, a boy with a cancer called Rhabdomyoscarcoma, had the chance to meet with his favorite quarterback, Matt Ryan.

After arriving at the Flowery Branch with greetings from a host of Falcons cheerleaders on Friday morning, Alex had breakfast with some Falcons coaches and players. Then he went to watch the team practicing in preparation for the game against the San Diego Chargers.

Alex will stay in Atlanta with his older brother, mother and father to watch Falcons’ preseason game against the Chargers on Saturday. They will watch pregame warm-ups from the sideline and watch the game in GM Thomas Dimitroff’s suite. After that he will get a behind-the-scene tour of the Georgia Aquarium on Sunday morning.

The boy from South Carolina said he loves the football game but is not a Panthers fan. He appeared excited in a No. 2 falcons jersey. And Ryan said he would like to help in any way to realize other’s wish within his ability.
