According to reports by the Washington Post, the Redskins plan to give Ladell Betts more playing time this season, so as to decrease wear and tear on featured running back Clinton Portis, who battled injury after injury last season.
It is reported that the Redskins are likely to Betts in almost every third-down passing situatio. Offensive coordinator Sherman Smith said that the team needs Betts to play. He is a player feels well only when wearing nfl jerseys.
” Betts demonstrated in 2006 that he can be a terrific fantasy running back when given the opportunity, and he’s a must-own for anyone who drafts Portis in the earlier rounds. Portis battled injury after injury last season and has topped 325 carries in four of the last five years. He’s the definition of injury risk, and Betts is poised to take advantage if given the chance."
Hope that the Betts will take good advantage of the chance to prove he is the right choice of the team.
