Jets RB Jones: No new deal is coming

According to the New York Daily News' reports on Friday, Jets RB Thomas Jones is very unhappy now for he won't be getting any

restructured contract.

A report written by NFL.com's Steve Wyche earlier this week says that Jones would still take part in organized team activities next Wednesday after he did not participate in voluntary workouts. But it seems that he will not receive new deal.

30 years old, the AFC’s leading rusher last season with 1,312 yards and 13 touchdowns, Jones has two years left on his contract, with $900,000 owed this season and $2.8 million owed in 2010. Early in this week some reports doubt that Jets will restrutured contract with Jones, but now it becomes obivious that no new deal is coming.

There are two reason why Jones got into such situation. One is thathis backup, Leon Washington, is also hoping for a new contract or extension, and the other one is the team's using of a third-round draft pick (No. 65 overall) Iowa RB Shonn Greene.
